I got an email from Tim Dawson today. Tim is the author of a number of cool windows forms controls which he makes available on his web site at http://www.divil.co.uk/net/ . The reason for Tim's email is somewhat embarassing. It seems that in one of my codegen apps I have neglected to mention the DotNetWidgets UI library of Tim's which I have used (it's part of the license agreement that you include a mention in your app's about box, or help file, and I did neither). Looking back at the couple of very late nights writing documentation and putting the finishing touches on the app I can understand how it slipped my mind, but it is still a bit slack. Tim was very cool about it, but I feel terrible. It looks like I will be doing another release of that app sooner than I had planned. I noticed over on Tim's site that he has a new toolbar control (which he calls the Sandbar) available for download. It does Office XP / Office 2003 style toolbars and menus. I'm still undecided if I like the Office 2003 style toolbar yet or not, but it looks like a cool control. I will be having a look at it over the week-end. One of the best things about Tim's other controls that I have used is the great design time support, so this one has a lot to live up to. Tim is also a Windows Forms Code Hero (joining the likes of Chris Sells and Lutz Roeder). Appologies to Tim for not including him in my app's about box.
